Lawrence and Peggy Coulthurst lived in Bury at the turn of the 19th century with their rather interestingly named brood.
First, it seems, came Jeshurun Taylor Coulthurst in 1798, followed by twins Jedidah and Zedikiah in 1800. Theophilus arrived in 1802, Ithiel in 1806, Alameth in 1809, Parmenas in 1815 and, possibly later, a little Alcimus.
Jeshurun Taylor had at least twelve children with his wife Ellen, including Lois, Lawrence, Mary, Peggy, James Taylor, George, Parmenas, Henry, Parmenas, William Ainsworth, Marth Ellen and Susannah Jane.
Jedidah married John and had Kezia, Edna, Jeshurun, Jedidah Helen, Amanda and Amelia.
Theophilus and his wife, Jane, had four sons: Alameth, Carshena, Armena and Peruda.
Ithiel and Mary's children included Amelia, Lawrence, Theophilus, Parmenas, Ithiel, Alcimus, Alameth, Naomi and Benjamin.
But, for me, winning the name stakes was Alameth whose children were Alcimus Mitten, Zebudah, James Edwin, Amariah Ithiel, Heman Whittaker, Jeshurun Laurence and Armena Theophilus.
