The majority of babies (87%) registered in Northern Ireland in 2011 had additional
forenames. For boys, traditional forenames such as James, Patrick, John, Joseph and
Thomas were more popular as additional forenames than Jack was as a first name.
Similarly for girls, the names Rose, Elizabeth, Mary, Louise, Marie and Grace were more
popular as additional forenames than Sophie was as a first name.
