Finds from 1868

1868 was a packed year for Britain. It started with the British Expedition to Abyssinia in January and ended with the world's first traffic lights being installed in Parliament Square in London in December.
Joseph Norman Lockyer discovered the chemical element helium and public hanging was abolished. It was also a year of three PMs: The Earl of Derby, Disraeli and Gladstone.
